Exhibit honoring Tuskegee Airmen comes to town next week

Local News

A free exhibit honoring the Tuskegee Airmen is coming to Erie next week.  The Urban Erie Community Development Corporation is bringing the CAF Red Tail Squadron’s ‘Rise Above’ exhibit on Wednesday.

The tribute recognized the nation’s first African-American military pilots who fought in WWII.  The exhibit includes a mobile movie theater, artifacts, and a WWII P-51-C Mustang aircraft.

Gary Horton, of the Urban Erie Community Development Corporation, says, “So, we believe that if we can inspire kids to aim high, believe in themselves, use their brain, never quit, be ready to go, they can expect to win.”

‘Rise Above’ will be hosted at Erie International Airport from Wednesday through Sunday.
