A weekend of activities kicked off this morning at the Harley Davidson of Erie. The organization, The Fallen Soldiers Picnic, held a Fallen Soldiers Ride for Bikers.

About 260 motorcyclists met in erie to take a ride  together before the memorial day celebration.

Coordinators tell us a lot of bikers have loved ones in the service and they call the ride “wind therapy.”

“A lot of our families of our fallen ride, so we wanted to give them an opportunity to kind of unwind in the morning before the picnic, because they’re grieving still,” said Cindi Treiber, Fallen Soldiers Picnic Board President.
The folks who put on the event  say it’s important people remember the reason we celebrate the holiday in the first place. This is the fifth annual bike run memorial day weekend.
