The Pennsylvania Academy of Family Physicians is once again looking for the best doctor in Pennsylvania – but we need the public’s help!
We’re looking for a doctor who embodies the principles of excellent health care: seeing their patients not as numbers, but as people; treating the “whole person,” not just the symptom; using their experience and education to better their neighborhood, their state, and their world.
We’re looking for a true family physician leader and mentor, one who passes on their experience and skills to others and elevates their entire team to the height of their training.
The 2019 Family Physician of the Year will be a doctor who truly has a passion for the “care” component of health care, who shows courage under fire, who values the tradition of family medicine and has the talent and determination to bring the specialty into the future.
It couldn’t be easier to nominate someone for the PAFP’s 2019 Family Physician of the Year! A complete list of rules and digital nomination form is available at www.pafp.com. The nominee must be a practicing member of the Pennsylvania Academy of Family Physicians (most Pennsylvania physicians are).
We hope the nominating team of physicians, patients, and colleagues support these nominees with plenty of information and examples of why this doctor is deserving of the PAFP’s highest award.
The Pennsylvania Academy of Family Physicians and its Foundation supports its members (including nearly 80 percent of Pennsylvania family physicians) through advocacy and education to ensure physician-coordinated, personalized, and comprehensive quality health care for every Pennsylvanian. The Academy and its Foundation are the leading influential resource among family physicians and physicians in training in Pennsylvania; the primary voice on health care issues with state legislative and administrative branches of government, media and professional health organizations; and the leader on health care issues in the community.
