The closure of an Erie restaurant could benefit you if you happen to be looking for some antique or rustic decor. Elena LaQuatra is with us from the former ‘Famous Dave’s Bar-B-Que’ to give us a peek inside the big auction.
According to one local expert, an auction is the best way to convey goods from the seller to the buyer. Jeff Cox, of Cox’s Auction House, will be cattle rattling all night.
Famous Dave’s Bar-B-Que on peach Street closed their doors in August when the franchise agreement between the chain and Scott Enterprises ended. But, they’re not letting the hundreds of decorative items go in the trash. That includes mounted moose antlers, antique snowshoes, clocks, and a lot of signs featuring the name, ‘Dave’.
But, come prepared! Cox tells us, “This is a BYOT auction… bring your own tools. You’ll be responsible for taking down any of the items that you buy… including the beams.”
Chris says, “We’re really happy that these articles are going to find a new home especially for the people who are into the outdoors, hunting, and fishing, There’s a lot of great treasures here.”
There are more than 400 items up for auction.
