CONNEAUT, Ohio — Two people died following a three-vehicle crash just south of Conneaut, Ohio on Thursday evening.
Police said Roger J. Bacon, 70, and Raymond D. Reed, 80, were killed after Reed failed to yield at a stop sign at the intersection of State Route 7 and State Route 84 around 6:29 p.m.
Reed’s 2014 Chevrolet Cruze struck Bacon’s 1996 Buick Century, forcing Bacon into a 2010 Ford F-250 pickup truck driven by 27-year-old Brian J. Housel. Housel was not injured in the accident.
Reed slid off the side of the road and struck a utility pole and was transported to UHHS Brown Medical Hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Bacon was pronounced dead at the scene, according to police.
According to police, all three drivers were wearing seat belts.\
Police continue to investigate the crash.
