Fatal fire claims two young lives in Schwenksville

Local News

Pennsylvania State Police say two boys died after a fire at their home in Schwenksville.

Late this morning, the Montgomery County Sheriffs Office confirmed there was a fatal fire at the home of one of its deputies, Bryan Lukens.   Apparently, Lukens, his wife, and his young daughter were able to get out of the home, though the couples’ two sons did not.

Timothy Greene, of Pennsylvania State Police, says, “Unfortunately, there were two juvenile males located on the second floor… deceased”.

The three survivors were taken to a hospital one of them transported, we are told, by helicopter.  State Police Fire investigators and County Detectives said to be one the scene. As for where the blaze began or what might have started it, Trooper Greene says, “we don’t have anything right now, they are investigating the origin”.

Neighbors say the Lukens’ home was often a beehive of activity.  Lisa Dull tells us they are a “Nice young family; two little boys and a daughter and… very energetic, always doing something,
always at the basketball courts and everything. Her boys were always out playing… Just a nice, nice family”.
