Feeding the meters just got easier in Erie with a new app called ‘meterEZ’

Local News

Parking in downtown Erie is getting more convenient thanks to a new app.

At Mayor Schember’s news conference this morning, representatives with the Parking Authority announced the launch of meterEZ.  It’s an application designed by weCreate.  It allows you to pay for a parking meter from your smartphone.

Starting today, the app can be used for any meter in the downtown area.

meterEZ Owner, Nate Wheeler, says, “One really interesting, cool feature is that once you’re in a meeting and it goes long, you’re gonna get a notification before you run out of time and you’re going to be able to add time from that meeting.”

Today, the Parking Authority is also installing two parking kiosks outside the courthouse.  The kiosks will also take credit cards.  They’ll be installed for 60 days as the Parking Authority gets feedback from community members to determine a long-term solution.

We’ll have much more for you on this tonight on Action News at 5 and 6!
