Financial adviser tells GE stockholders what to do with their shares

General Electric stockholders take a hit after the Dow Jones drops the company from its list of the elite.

GE was booted from the Dow because of under-performance.  The company’s shares have lost more than half of their value over the past year.  Today, the stock closed down, but should you keep your GE stock?

Financial Adviser Roland Kljunich of Roland Financial says,  “[It] all depends on what you bought it for. You’re still getting some sort of dividend. The dividend is not what it used to be. It’s about half as much, now, but if you don’t have to sell it; you’re probably better off holding it. It just depends on how much of your portfolio is in the stock.”

Kljunich says it’s important to always diversify your portfolio.
