Fire Chiefs from around the state meet in Erie

Local News

Erie is hosting several dignitaries from across the state this weekend.  22 fire chiefs from all over Pennsylvania are in Erie for a meeting of the Pennsylvania Career Fire Chief’s Association.

The PA Fire Chiefs meet three times a year in different cities in Pennsylvania to discuss the problems facing the departments and new legislation that’s affecting operations.  Erie’s Fire Chief, Guy Santone, tells us, “we reach out to other chiefs across the state to see how they handled it and it works both ways whether it’s an arbitration or whatever it is just a nice resource and they are a great resource to have.”

At the same time, the Pennsylvania Municipal League Summit is kicking off tonight, bringing in more than 100 mayors and municipal leaders from across the state for a weekend line-up of events.
