The City of Erie hosted their first public hearing and citizen input meeting for funding of the 2019 fiscal year. The city applying for funding from the Department of Housing and Urban Development.
The main focus of the meeting was on the Community Block Grant. The city will be applying for more than $3 million.
Several of the organizations making an appearance, praising the current administration and their work with the grant from 2018.
Erie Mayor Joe Schember saying this grant helps to accomplish the goals of bettering Erie.
“We can’t accomplish what we want by our self. They can’t accomplish it by themselves. Working together, we can transform Erie and make it a better place.”
The city will be hosting another public hearing to discuss the grant tonight at 6pm.
