Fishing in Misery Bay may get more entertaining for some…

Local News

It may be early fall but already some sport fishermen are thinking about ice fishing.

The Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission along with the Pennsylvania Sea Grant Program and the Sons of Lake Erie are working on a habitat project for Misery Bay on Presque Isle.

The bay is a popular spot of ice fishing and the idea is to use wood structures to provide places for sport and panfish to grow.

David Boughton of PA Sea Grant tells us, “The idea is to create a structure underneath the water for the young fish to hide, to nest and support our natural fish population.”
