Calories do NOT count on the holidays … right?

If only that were true, but one local fitness facility helped relieve some of guilt with fitness before the feast.

It was pre-turkey pull-ups at iRock Fitness. 

That was just one of the many different exercises that kicked off this holiday.

“Trying to get a head start of the day. There’s going to be a lot of feasting, so just trying to get a head start,” Liz Daoust, a participant, said. 

Hundreds of people packing in the workout room throughout the three-hour, non-stop circuit.

“I could barely find a parking spot,” Nikol Lybrook, a participant, said. 

Those who came out say it was extra motivation before the mash potatoes.

“I loved seeing all the people. I really had no idea what to expect, so it was very motivating,” Daoust said. 

“I feel like I won’t feel as guilty later. It’s just a great way to start the day, get everything done and get me a little more motivation,” Lybrook said. 

Everyone did a workout for a minute before moving on to the next exercise. The goal was to workout for a complete hour.

“You don’t have to feel guilty about eating because I just burned 900-950 calories in a hour, so I know I can go home and eat that and still be even,” Aaron Hertle, an iRock member and participant, said. 

Hertle brought out his entire family, including his eight-month old son.

“This is going to be family iRock tradition, I think,” Hertle continued.
