Classes resume this morning at the high school in Parkland, Florida, for the first time since the Valentines Day shooting that took 17 lives. Extra security will be in place and counselors will be on campus indefinitely. A modified schedule begins today, exactly two weeks after the deadly attack.
Student Nicole Velasquez says, “I don’t think anyone is physically prepared or mentally prepared to walk through those red gates”.
The freshman building where the shooting happened will remain closed and all off-duty Broward County Law Enforcement Officials will be there to greet the students.
