With the height of the flu season right around the corner, Erie County has already seen more than a dozen cases of the flu.
As of the Dec. 31, there were 20 flu cases reported in Erie County with one person hospitalized.
But the flu season has just begun, with January and February typically having the highest number of reported flu cases for Erie County. The Department of Health recommends the vaccine is the best weapon to fight it.
