Food pantries open in six Erie city schools

Local News

Students in six Erie city schools now can shop for basic food and hygiene products.

A food pantry has opened at Wilson Middle School. Students have access to a number of products from cereal to shampoo, all donated by Second Harvest Food Bank.

For the students, this is a chance to take what they need; not only for them, but for their families as well.

School Nurse Sarah Garosalo tells us, “It’s nice to see them be able to take some nutritional items home and share them with their families, some of them need some items”.

Other schools with food pantries include Collegiate Academy, East Middle School, Emerson Gridley, and Erie High School.
