A former Erie High School football star gets the okay to play at McDowell, reigniting the debate over student transfers.

The Pennsylvania Interscholastic Athletic Association held a hearing Monday on the status of Danny Blue. According to the Erie Times News, the standout football player was granted permission to play at McDowell. This, despite objections by the Erie School District who believe Blue transferred for athletic intent.

Blue’s family moved to Millcreek, reportedly, to avoid crime in their previous neighborhood.
