Former Erie resident preparing for Hurricane Matthew landfall in Florida

Local News

ERIE, Pa. – Former Erie County Councilman Ken Wayne is now a resident in Boca Raton, Fla., and is preparing for Hurricane Matthew.

As the hurricane heads his way, Wayne said by phone Thursday afternoon about getting ready for the storm and the likelihood of being without electricity.

“For instance, the first thing you do is fill up your cars, make sure you have enough gas,” Wayne said. “If you wait ’till the last minute all the gas station are empty,  they’re closed up.  No more gas.  You have to fill your bathtub full of water so you have water for the toilets, have to have drinking water.”
