Former Pennsylvania Governor Tom Ridge makes his first television appearance since a near fatal heart attack.

Ridge attended an event tonight in Washington supporting the Ridge School for Intelligence Studies and Applied Sciences at Mercyhurst University. Less than four months after his heart attack, Ridge recalled the events of November 16th in Austin, Texas. He says he got very lucky beginning with the care he received from e-m-t’s and continuing in the hospital.

“I got connected with a great group of cardiologists and some tremendous professionals. Six days later, I woke up and I’ve been on the mend ever since. Again, I feel blessed. It was a combination of great healthcare and divine intervention. You put the two together, it’s pretty powerful,”said Ridge.

The 72 year old Ridge was in Texas for a Republican Governor’s Conference when he suffered the heart attack.
