Call it a growing debate over a project in Franklin Township.
A proposal to build a 15 acre greenhouse was the subject of a public meeting tonight. The greenhouse would reportedly grow produce and look to hire veterans. But that project take place on a 35 acres … exceeding a limit on the size of the building allowed on that much land. Right now, a structure can’t exceed ten percent of the lot it’s on. That’s why planners went before the zoning hearing board.
“It would be a benefit to the township to have something in this category because we don’t have anything in Franklin Township and it certainly would be growth to the township,” said Dennis Russin of the Franklin Township Zoning Hearing Board.
A vote on this project is expected next month.
