Call it a ‘growing’ debate over a project in Franklin Township, a proposal to build a 15-acre greenhouse.
The greenhouse would reportedly grow produce and look to hire veterans. But, that project takes place on 35 acres, exceeding a limit on the size of the building allowed on that much land.
Right now, a structure can’t exceed 10% of the lot it’s on. That’s why planners went before the zoning hearing board.
Dennis Russin of the Franklin Township Zoning Hearing Board, says, “It would be a benefit to the township to have something in this category because we don’t have anything in Franklin Township and it certainly would be growth to the township.”
A vote on this project is expected to take place next month.
