The staff at Presque Isle is helping visitors learn and see as much as they can about the State Park, through free daily pontoon tours of the peninsula’s lagoon.
From May 27 to September 5, the “Lagoon By Pontoon” boat tours take a maximum of 16 passengers on a one-hour ride through the lagoon, with park staff and volunteers interpreting historical areas, sharing the diversity of the native plants and animals, and showing off the beauty of our local natural resource.
The tours are scheduled for 11am, 1pm and 2pm at the Pontoon Station.
Riders can also experience a special “evening ride” on the pontoon boats, experiencing the wildlife at dusk. Those night rides are every Wednesday and Friday from 7-8:30pm beginning June 1 through September 2.
To take a ride, you must sign up at the station which opens at 10am. Admission is on a first-come, first-served basis.
