Thousands of elementary and middle school students are treated to a free concert by the Erie Philharmonic. This is the organization’s annual youth concert, this year’s entitled, ‘What Makes our Music Sound American’.
It’s more than just a concert for the kids; it’s part of a curriculum. Executive Director of the Erie Phil., Steve Weiser, tells us, “We want to make the experience as rich and as long as we can so, in August, we sent out a 51-page lesson plan, stem activities and game breaks so they have been working on the music for more than two months.”
The Erie Phil. welcomes students from schools in Erie, New York, and Crawford County. There are three show times; each concert bringing the Warner Theatre to full capacity.
