Frontier Park looks to add some fun by inserting slides onto hill near stage

Local News

Get ready to take sliding at Frontier Park to a new level.  The Commonwealth is awarding the Lake Erie Arboretum at Frontier Park at $125,000 grant to make enhancements.

The installation would feature three stainless steel slides that slope along the hill near the stage.  The overall project, including additional landscaping, could cost up to $275,000.

Landscaper and Board President of LEAF, Dan Dahlkemper, tells us, “We slide in the wintertime. So, this is an opportunity to slide in the summertime in a very safe manner. High slides create a falling hazard. When you’re close to the ground, there’s no falling hazard.”

The project, spearheaded by Rick Griffith, is expected to be completed next summer.
