Fundraiser for local woman fighting cancer… again

Local News

Cheryl Boyd is fighting cancer for the second time in 2 years. First it was breast cancer, now it’s in her stomach. That’s because she’s CDH1 positive, which means she’s genetically predisposed to these cancers. She recieved a double masectomy during her breast cancer treatment.  In February she’ll have her stomach removed.  Today a fundraiser was held to help her with medical costs.  After the procedure in late February Boyd will miss at least 6-8 weeks of work.  Friends and family gathered Sunday at Stephany’s Grove and Catering to support Boyd and her husband during this difficult time.
