A cookout was hosted to kick off Roar on the Shore week to benefit the Salvation Army.
Proceeds from the event are being used to send one child from Erie to Star Lake Music Camp.
The camp costs $300, but they are hoping to raise enough to provide spending money as well.
Dozens were on hand for the pig roast to help raise the much needed funds.
Connie Miller, Salvation Army Bookkeeper said, “Top notch music players, some of the best musicians in the United States have gotten their start there.”
This is the first year the pig roast is being used as a fundraiser and organizers are hoping to make it an annual tradition.
