Two local universities, among several in the state, receive grants to combat sexual assault on campus.

Governor Tom Wolf’s office announcing 39 post-secondary institutions across the state receiving more than $950,000 for ‘It’s on US PA’ grants.  Both Gannon and Mercyhurst applied for the grants, helping establish programs ranging from campus-wide training for students and staff to institutional campaigns to raise awareness of sexual assault on campus. 

Alice Agnew, Title 9 Coordinator for Mercyhurst University, tells us they are “…also going to work with community partners like SafeNet to work on a healthy relationship curriculum to actually see what a healthy relationship looks like”.

This year’s ‘It’s on US PA’ grant recipients include public and private institutions in every corner of the state.
