High school students trade their textbooks for hands-on experience. GE hosts their Seventh Annual Dare to Dream Youth Empowerment Summit.
Around 70 students from Erie High School and the Collegiate Academy participate in the all-day event. Students attend presentations and breakout sessions. The conference gives teens a platform to talk about the change they can make in the community.
Margaret Dieudonne, GE Engineer, tells us, “The theme for this year is becoming a voice. It could be becoming a voice for a cause they care about in Erie, their family member, maybe a pet or even for themselves.”
Organizers say it’s important high schoolers know how big of an impact they can make if they work together.
