GE moving work out of Erie

Local News

Union workers at Erie’s General Electric plant say that more work is heading out of town, but the company says it won’t happen until 2017.

Those workers thought that work to update the power supplies of old locomotives would happen in Erie but now the company is moving the work to other places, including the new locomotive plant in Texas.

In a statement the company called the realignment routine, saying it’s a “normal part of business to align our resources across the entire supply chain”.

No jobs are expected to be affected.
