Get a preview of the Erie Auto Show with Vintage Modified Restoration

Local News

Remember the days of muscle cars and corvettes with high powered engines?  You don’t see many of those cars anymore unless you stop by an Erie business.  Vintage Modified Restoration takes the old and makes it look showroom new.  They say, “We specialize in anything that makes dreams come true.”

Of course, those dreams come with lots of horsepower and class.  Matt Loncki is the owner of Vintage Modified Restoration in Erie.  Loncki says they “do anything from a Corvette to a Jaguar, anything old, anything vintage, and we’ll modify it”.

In the video, you can see a 1959 beauty named Clockwork Orange.  The car was stored in a barn for 30 years.  It has legitimate 1400 horsepower…  this thing is nuts.  And, it sounds like it’s ready to impress.

Loncki says, “we were able to repair the fiberglass, do the bodywork, put a clear hood, and took it to a show in Pittsburgh last weekend… it took first in class”.

Clockwork Orange will be on display next week at the Erie Auto Show at the Bayfront Convention Center.  Vintage Modified Restoration is making a name for Erie as the place to bring vintage Corvettes for customization, like the 1957 ‘vette that sat on jack stands since 1979.

Shop Manager Brad Goetz tells us, “what we did on this car, we did all the mechanical restoration, everything under the car is brand new, but the outside is what he’s looked at for 47, 48 years”.

The ’57 Corvette will also be at the Erie Car Show, so when it comes to making dreams come true, at least for the vintage car enthusiasts, Vintage Modified Restoration is the Dreamweaver.

Don’t forget to check out the Erie Auto Show February 1st through the 4th at the Bayfront Convention Center.
