Girard Township officials plan on selling nearly 11 acres of land that is now home to two baseball fields. The fields, along Route 5 in Lake City, have been maintained by the township for more than 30 years.
That maintenance costs money and the township feels it’s time to move on.
Township Supervisor Bill Felege tells us, “There’s one section up there that’s a little over 10 acres that can be broken off and actually sold and we’re currently working on that, on the legal side of that.”
Felege says not everyone agrees with the sale but says supervisors want to do what’s best for the community park and Girard Township.
