Governor Tom Wolf’s Administration and the city of Erie want to make sure the concerns of Asian and Pacific Islander Americans are being heard.
The Governor’s Advisory Commission on Asian Pacific American Affairs will be a part of the city’s first town hall for the communities on Sunday. They will discuss topics such as civic engagement, community resources, and entrepreneurship.
Niken Astari, Carpenter and Refugee/Immigrant Liaison for the City of Erie, says, “We tend to be quiet and silent. So, this town hall purpose is to get them out there to be able to voice their needs, their concerns and to ask questions.”
The town hall will be held this Sunday in City Hall Council Chambers from 1-3pm.
It’s free and open to the public.
