A trial date is set for a man who told Police he killed his wife. John Grazioli is heading to trial this October for a bizarre case that has gained national attention.
Grazioli returned to the Erie County Courthouse today for his formal arraignment. He was arrested after being accused of shooting his wife, Amanda, in the head while she was sleeping.
Investigators say they recovered John’s suicide note in the couple’s bedroom, but later found him at St. Peter Cathedral in Erie after a priest told us he admitted to the crime. Police also say they found Grazioli’s gun.
At his preliminary hearing, his attorney said he plans to enter a plea of not guilty. The prosecution today telling the judge they will be going for a first-degree murder conviction.
The judge asked if they’re also pursuing the death penalty, but they say that is not on the table.
