While it is Good Friday for most Christians, at one area church it’s a ‘Really Good Friday’.
For the seventh year now, the faithful at Greater Calvary Full Gospel Baptist Church have performed a service project on Good Friday under their ‘Really Good Friday’ program.
This year, they volunteered to help serve food at the City Mission.
The idea is to turn the darkest day on the Christian calendar into a positive.
Guest Speaker David Dinkins says the church’s Good Friday message can be used throughout the year.
“Stop being afraid of what could go wrong and start being positive about what could go right in your life. Set a goal before you go to bed, wake up, finish that goal, and wake up with a positive attitude.”
Dinkins was an NFL football player for the Buffalo Bills and later played quarterback for the Erie Storm Arena Football Team.
