ERIE, Pa. — A new deputy chief has been sworn into office in Millcreek Township as he prepares to make a transition to chief.

Captain Scott Heidt of the Millcreek Police Department was administered the official oath of office Thursday morning at the township building.
Heidt will now assume the role of deputy chief and will replace Chief Mike Tesore in January.
Heidt has served 29 years in the Millcreek Police Department and looks forward to leading his team.

“Just looking forward to continuing the work of my predecessor and keep things hopefully the best they can be for the residents of the township,” Heidt said.

Heidt started his career in Millcreek Township 34 years ago working as a dispatcher before moving up the ranks.
