Flames engulf much of the second floor of an east side Erie home this afternoon.
Fire crews were called to this four-unit house in the 1100 block of East 25th street just before 1 p.m.
Crews found heavy smoke pouring from the windows when they arrived, and were able to contain flames in a matter of minutes.
Erie Fire Chief Tony Pol says the fire began on the second floor, and spread fast due to the building’s construction.
All four units of the home were occupied at the time of the fire, but all occupants were able to escape uninjured.
A cause is not yet known.
