Many families were out enjoying the Monday off with most schools and federal buildings closed.
This Presidents Day has families from all over the region heading over to Splash Lagoon.
Director of Operations, Donny Wensinger, says, “It’s so nice to have that quick break and relief of it being 84 degrees warm and in your bathing suit.”
Kids of all ages waiting for a chance to be drenched by the larger than life water bucket.
Andrea Haskell of Jamestown, New York, says the water park is the best family outing for Presidents Day. “We decided to come down to Splash Lagoon because it has everything from baby to big kid; we had a blast.”
We also met up with Stacy Wallace of Fredonia, New York who says that attending the water park is a tradition her family does every year. Her family all agrees that Splash Lagoon is their favorite. “There is a good variety of things to do for the ages; the slides… the wave tank is the best. We have been to multiple water parks and this is the best.”
Now, whether or not you are racing down one of the vibrantly colored slides, or waiting for a wave to crash around you, there are many things to do at the park.
Another hot-spot for families is Vertical Jump Park.
Amy Young says her family decided to drive from Pierpont, Ohio. “We are enjoying ourselves out for a little bit of fun; day off”.
It seems as if there was much to do on this Presidents Day Weekend in Erie. And, if you’re lucky, it may have been just as good as Riley Young Pierpont’s day. “It’s one of the best Presidents Days I’ve ever had.”
