More than a thousand people made their way to the grounds of the Humane Society in Millcreek for a night of rock and rescue charity concert.
The Gin Blossoms, a popular band that logged several hits from the 90’s took to the stage tonight for this charity concert. They made a comeback in 2010 with the release of their latest album.
The Humane Society is celebrating 125 years of rescuing, rehabilitating and re-housing needy pets in the community.
Officials at the Humane Society said choosing the Gin Blossoms for this charity event was an easy choice.
“As we were looking at different bands, I had the chance to talk to the manager of the band and found out the Gin Blossoms were huge animal lovers, so they were easy to work with. They’re awesome guys and tie into our mission and believe in what we do,” said Nicole Bawol, Executive Director of Humane Society of NWPA.
Erie’s own “6 year stretch” was tonight’s opening act for the rock and rescue charity concert.
