The spotlight shines on more than a dozen community leaders who are making a difference in the lives of others.
Hundreds of people came to the Mary D’Angelo Performing Arts Center for the 27th annual Women Making History event. Organized by the Mercy Center for Women, the night pays tribute to women who have been leaders in Erie. This year, thirteen women were honored.
“We don’t feel we’re really making this big splash in our community, but obviously we are because of the people who nominated us. We made an impact on their lives and they recognize the work we’re doing very quietly within our community,” said honoree Julie Chacona.
More than three hundred women have now been honored during the 27 years of this event.
