Stars, stripes, and emotions. Many events taking place this weekend held to honor those who gave their lives fighting for our freedom. Hundreds of people across the county honoring those who have sacrificed their lives for the United States.
The Soldiers and Sailors Home holding a memorial day weekend service on Saturday filled with music and emotions.
Also, Edinboro Cemetery inviting folks to participate in an evening ceremony. The concert band of north western Pennsylvania playing the national anthem and girl scouts saying the pledge of allegiance.
All veterans saying military men and women should be honored more frequently but their thankful for the day honoring those who serve.
The veterans also agreeing they will continue serving by honoring the active duty service men and women.

Girard: Memorial Day parade, Monday at 2 p.m., beginning at American Legion Post 494, 42 Wall St., in
East Springfield: Memorial Day Parade & Service, Monday at 11 a.m.The parade will leave Springfield Elementary School, 11911 Bond St., and march to the Springfield Cemetery on Route 215, where William Porter will lead a service including keynote speaker Dick Robinson.
Erie: Walnut Creek Baptist Church Freedom Run, 11 am
