One of the largest Memorial Day parades in the area, Fairview’s Memorial Day Parade, honors those who lost their lives fighting for freedom.
Andrew Heinlein says, “It’s a great way to celebrate memorial day and honor our veterans and all of those who gave their lives for our country.”
Scott Law says, “Honor and remember all the people who gave their lives defending our country. It’s a nice memorial. And then the VFW and all the stuff that goes on. That’s pretty nice.”
Hundreds of people lined West Ridge Road Monday to see fire trucks and floats make its way through Fairview.
People say they bring out the entire family every year to enjoy the parade.
Heinlein says, “My oldest is now 18 and we’ve come out since she was a little baby. So we come out every year for the parade.”
And of course the kids love all the parade has to offers.
Heinlein says, “What’s your favorite part about the parade? The candy? Yeah, she likes the candy.”
