“Day and night difference” said construction worker Louis Slawinski”we went from a race track style bar and now we have a brew pub it looks fantastic “
We all remember when the Presque Isle Downs and Casino clubhouse looked like a race track style bar.
Now the clubhouse will soon resemble an old fashion tap house, JET 24 Action News was let behind closed doors to show you what is soon to be unveiled to the public.
It is a modern and unique brew pub with different colored lumber mounted on the walls.
“So there are some of these unique features” said Vice President Jeff Favre “the floor going back to staining the concrete the distressed wood look which is like an old barn wood.”
The new venue will feature live music on a brand new stage every night of the week, along with 30 beers on tap including local brews and a new menu.
“Biggest change is we are adding pizza that didn’t exist before” said Favre “and of course the same staples people are fond of but also adding a little more variety.”
The entire project is expected to be complete next Friday May 6th just in time for the Kentucky Derby one of the casinos biggest nights.
Which means a lot of construction work needs to be done this week to prepare for the opening.
“Big project, a lot of construction going on in a very short timeline” said Slawinski”but we are trying our best to get it done.”
“We are excited about the opening” said Favre” Kentucky Derby weekend it’s opening whether we want to or not and it is going to be well received.”
