(Noon Update:) — An overnight accident in Girard Township caused six people to be injured.
Fontaine Glenn was live in the control room with the latest.
According to the State Police report, those six people, including a three-year-old, were not restrained in the vehicle, causing their injuries.
The crash happened at 2:30 a.m. when an SUV hit a stationary pickup truck going eastbound when bridge construction crews had traffic stopped.
The passengers received medical treatment, but due to a language barrier at the scene, investigators are still obtaining information on the crash.
Fontaine spoke with PennDOT who says the accident happened during a rolling closure that slowed down traffic as the deck of the bridge was bring removed. Work will continue as usual tonight.
State police say there were no fatalities.

(UPDATE 9:00 AM) – Pennsylvania State Police releasing the early morning crash occurred at 2:30 a.m. as bridge construction crews had eastbound traffic stopped on I-90 at mile marker nine in Girard Township.
Six individuals, including a three-year-old, were in a Mazda SUV when it rear-ended an unoccupied stationary truck in the left lane.
None of the passengers were restrained and suffered multiple injuries during the collision. The passengers received medical treatment, but due to a language barrier at the scene investigators are still obtaining information on the crash.
State police are continuing to investigate the accident. Pennsylvania State Police Forensic Services Unit and Crash Analysis Reconstruction Specialists assisted with the investigation.
An early morning accident along I-90 sends eight people to the hospital. Calls went out around 2:30 a.m. for a car that reportedly smashed into a construction vehicle in the eastbound lane, just west of the Girard exit.
When first responders arrived on scene, they found eight people with injuries ranging from critical to moderate. Some of those injured, found laying in the roadway. Medics from several neighboring townships were called in to assist on scene.
The east bound lane of I-90 is shut down at this time and according to crew on scene, it will remain closed for some time while crews clean up the wreckage.
No word yet on what led to that accident, or if any construction workers were involved.
