It’s official, City Council unanimously votes on increasing parking fines $5

Local News

Starting this summer, parking fines in the city of Erie are going up.

Erie City Council voted unanimously this morning to raise parking fines by $5 for all metered and non-metered violations.  $3 of that increase will go to the Parking Authority as they invest in Smart Meter Technology.

The upgrades will allow people to pay using more than just change.  Council members say the number of tickets issued could go down with the new options.
