JMC Ice Arena working on a fix

Local News

Monday October 9, 2017 –  More problems on the ice at the JMC Ice Arena.

The ice was removed from the floor last week after crews noticed problems on the ice.
Scott Mitchell, President of the Erie Zoo, who also oversees the rink, says he hopes to have a fix in place this week. No official word on when the rink will re-open
Meantime games and practices have been cancelled for area rec leagues and business at North Coast Hockey just down the street, is taking a hit. Mike Sinclair, the stores Vice President, is concerned for the future.

He says:
“You don’t have the house leagues on the ice right now because there is no ice to be had. So we are losing a lot of players to that problem, my biggest worry right now is even if we get a new ice arena in time will it be too late?”
