ERIE, Pa. -- A man who is no stranger to the courts has agreed to come out of retirement to fill an empty seat on the Erie County bench.
Retired common pleas court Judge Shad Connelly, 72, will work the cases assigned to Judge Robert Sambroak. Sambroak passed away in March.
Connelly will be paid for 10 days each month which is the limit for a senior judge.
He has agreed to work beyond that for no charge as a community service.
Connelly could work until Gov. Tom Wolf appoints someone or when the term expires in 2019.
