Junior Achievement Awards Area Students with over $132,000 in Scholarships

Several area student receive scholarship awards tonight.

The Junior Achievement Awards taking place at the St. Mark Catholic Center. The program giving away over $132,000 in scholarships to students from 13 area schools that have done Junior Achievement programming. Junior Achievement is a program that teaches money management, career readiness and entrepreneurial skills.

“We are such a start up town and entrepreneurial ventures are blossoming everywhere so, it’s helpful to give our area students that education, confidence and tools that they need in order to build into that ecosystem that the Erie community is starting to cultivate,” said Erin Sekerak, Executive Director of Junior Achievements Western PA Northwest Region.

Since the start, the program has awarded over one million dollars in scholarships.
