Erie County Executive Kathy Dahlkemper is pleased to announce that Attorney Richard Perhacs will be joining her administration as County Solicitor, effective June 1st. Perhacs will replace Marcia Haller, who is retiring.
“I was fortunate to have Marcy Haller as part of my administrative team for the last four-plus years, and I know that Rich will continue the example she set for transparency, accountability and accessibility,” Dahlkemper said. “Rich brings a wealth of experience in serving local government, and I am confident that he will be an asset to Erie County.”
Perhacs, who most recently has practiced at the Knox McLaughlin Gornall & Sennett law firm, has more than 40 years of experience counseling local governments. He served as an assistant county solicitor for three Erie County executives and has counseled area school districts as well as the City of Erie.
Perhacs received his juris doctor degree from Duquesne University, and he has a master’s degree from Seton Hill University and a bachelor’s degree from St. Vincent College. He also serves on the board of the Multicultural Community Resource Center and is the author of two published books.
