Fracking wells are popping up across the state of Pennsylvania, and Erie leaders are urging lawmakers to do everything they can to keep natural gas drilling away from our region.
Senators from across the state listened as community leads asked them to take a stance against fracking.
Environmentalists are concerned about the health, safety and quality of life of Erie residents noting fires and injuries caused from burst pipes in other areas of western p-a.
They say Erie already receives a grade F when it comes to air pollution, that fracking doesn’t need to add to it.
The Pennsylvania oil and gas association was supposed to be at today’s forum but canceled.
Senator Sean Wiley expects to announce his stance tomorrow.
