One area program for kids is celebrating the end of the summer with a ‘Fun Day’.
More than 100 kids ages 5-17 are showing off what they’ve been working on all summer at the John F. Kennedy Center. Their summer theme was ‘My World and the World Around Me’. Segments included learning about resources, landforms, different cultures, and climate.
Organizers say it’s important that the students continue learning throughout the summer. Summer Youth Coordinator Ja’Leesa Williams says, “I think the best part is having adults around that they know believe in them. Giving them a chance to actually learn and grow together.”
The majority of the programming is funded through the CDBG and the Erie Housing Authority.
