The Lake Erie Tigers Varsity Hockey Team took over the Anna Shelter to give our furry friends a hand.
About a dozen team members ran errands in the shelter and took dogs for a walk. The team, consisting of players from high schools across the region, regularly does community service projects. This weekend, they spent a couple of hours serving and bringing awareness to animals in need of a home.
Dylan Szymanski of the Lake Erie Tigers says it “makes me feel amazing… helping these animals and helping the people”.
Another team member, Josh Walters, tells us, “we have boys that are eager to work and help out. So, what we do is we try to lend our services to anyone who needs them”.
The Lake Erie Tigers participate in projects throughout the year, like visiting soup kitchens. The team has just a few more games before playoffs begin.
